Protel Communication Systems is a locally owned technology company with a diversified product offering focused primarily in the communications industry. Founded by owner Steve Thompson in 1983 solely as a telephone sales and service entity, Protel has expanded rapidly over the ensuing years to include products and services such as: pager sales with local and national access, complete Internet services including hosting and web development, residential and business security and alarm systems, satellite television systems, computer network cabling installation and voice messaging systems that include auto attendant and leasable voice mail box services. Protel’s new state of the art building also houses one of the largest, and technologically advanced call center operations in the Midwest.

ProTel’s original vocation as a premiere provider of business telephone equipment and related service is still a solid cornerstone of the enterprise. Protel is an authorized representative for Toshiba telephone and voice mail systems and Harris Digital PBX telephone systems. Protel has also been selected to represent OKI, Lucent, Adtran and Cisco data equipment, Moose security systems and is an authorized agent for Southwestern Bell, Eclipse and Motorola.

Our mission as a corporate citizen of the Springfield market area is to diligently pursue the latest innovations in communications technology, to determine which of these advances are the most practical and dependable, and then make them available to our customers at a reasonable price.
